The Presets - Promises (Lifelike Remix)

Normally I'm not a huge fan of this style of male vocal, the emotional, falsetto-laced indie vibe that seems ubiquitous these days and is found on Australia's The Presets new release on Modular People Records. But Paris dance music legend Lifelike managed to improve the track beyond the original with a euphoric disco facelift.

The track is driven by an appegiated square wave bass that creates the perfect harmonic interaction with Julian Hamilton vocals. I found myself loving this epic eight-minute track the first time it came on, and I guess I'm not alone: It is currently burning up on the Hype Machine charts. Only downside is we'll have to wait until December 8 to actually buy it.
