Holy Ghost! - It Gets Dark

Brookyln duo Holy Ghost! just issued their first new song since their debut album of 2011, and the single is rocketing up the Hype Machine charts! It's already been posted by more than forty blogs and people are enthusiastically clicking the heart next to this dark new disco track. DFA Records is offering a collector's pressing of just 600 vinyl records of the single, which you can order for $10.

Earlier today, I wrote about the 1970s Italo disco godfather Giorgio Moroder's sweeping influence on modern dance music. It Gets Dark is a conforming example of that, starting with the appegiated subtractive synth line that drives the song. Like many tracks on Moroder's From Here to Eternity, the new Holy Ghost! release was written for speeding down the freeway at night in your black Lamborghini Countach.
